Susan Mac Isaac
Susan was first introduced to horses and riding at the age of 4 at a riding academy in England. At the age of 8 she got her own pony and began her endless journey into the horse world and the amazing sport of Dressage. What started as simple pony club lessons and small schooling shows became a lifelong passion and drive to join the top competition ranks in the sport.

Susan competed in Pony Club for many years receiving her graduate H-A, one of the highest Pony Club rankings for both Eventing and Dressage. She also competed annually in U.S. National and Regional Championships. Susan earned many young rider opportunities, including an invitation in 2005 to be one of 20 young riders from the United States to attend a Junior/Young Rider graduate program through the United States Dressage Federation in California. Little did she know that very weekend she would cross paths with here future employer and partner, Bettina Loy. Susan resided in Virginia from 2000 to 2005 where she operated her own dressage training business, and earned her degree from Virginia Tech.

A trip to California persuaded Susan to move from Virginia to Los Angeles and further her career as a competitive rider and trainer. Just a year later she relocated to San Diego and was reintroduced to Bettina Loy. Recognizing their mutual goals and compatible style, Bettina offered Susan the position of Assistant Trainer for Del Mar Dressage. Working and riding alongside Bettina, a unique partnership was instantly created. Since starting at Del Mar Dressage, Susan has been accepted as a student of Guenter Seidel and actively participates in clinics with Sue Blinks. Susan, who is gifted with an ability to "breakdown" the process - especially for beginner riders, has developed several of her own students. She is frequently sought out to train and compete on clients' horses in all stages of dressage development. Susan's desire and life goal is to join the ranks of international riders before she reaches thirty. An ambitious goal but with support, an attainable one.

Ulando
In the fall of 2007, Susan was honored to purchase the 7 year old Oldenburg/Dutch gelding, Ulando from her mentor, Bettina Loy. Ulando is out of Routiner, an FEI stallion out of the very well known and talented Rubenstein.

Ulando was bred by Bettina Loy. A unique personality and a bit of a late bloomer, Ulando requires a special partner. Bettina recognized that Susan was the right one. They "bicker" like kids; he is stubborn, but so is she and with Susan's spirit and patience, Ulando's natural brilliance is beginning to show. He is developing into an exciting competitor with great potential.
